The space saving design allows for surrounding outlets to be used; converts any lamp with metal to a 3-level touch dimmer; use regular incandescent bubs instead of expensive 3-way bulbs. The product is intended for incandescent or halogen bulbs only and will not work with a CFL bulb, an LED bulb, or a xenon bulb. The product will not work with another dimmer in the same circuit. When using the dimmer, to ensure that it functions through all 3 levels, a person should allow one full second between touching the lamp for the next cycle. The dimmer may not work well when plugged into an extension cord. When attempting to use the product, any metal portion of the lamp should be touched.
